I’ve held a variety of research and analytical positions in European politics, US voting behavior, National Parks and more, where I’ve been responsible for delivering everything from policy briefs to data visualizations.

As Communications Director for the DVS, I lead a team of volunteers and handle communications requests across all DVS channels. Currently overseeing website redesign.

In addition to my daily responsibilities of scheduling and helping with IT needs, I oversaw all technology for an in-office Supreme Court hearing. I also facilitated office relocation logistics in development and execution of transition plan, resulting in 30% comparative savings for the company.

Recidiviz.

Working remotely, I tracked COVID-19 statistics in US prisons and provided quantitative research support to the data team. I ensured COVID-19 database accuracy, personally contacting criminal justice workers in over 15 states.

Model European Union.

After three months of learning everything I could find about renewable energy in Latvia, I presented, defended and negotiated policy recommendations as the Latvian Head of Government during a competitive simulation of a European Council Summit. Won Best Delegate Award.

BYU Global Politics Lab.

As a Research Fellow for Dr. Wade Jacoby, I designed a multinational social science experiment with over 750 respondents. I used OLS regressions to identify impact of rhetorical political primes. As Lab Manager, I managed the schedule of 24 professors and fellows involved in international research projects.

Zion National Park.

With a team of about a dozen students, I constructed and executed three original in-person surveys to over 500 public lands users. We drafted policy recommendations that was shared with public lands officials. As an added bonus, we got to discover the best hikes in Southern Utah!

Center for the Study of Elections & Democracy.

Working for Dr. David Magleby, I created hundreds of visually appealing graphs, tables and charts on STATA and R for use in conference presentations and academic writing. I wrote weekly literature reviews and research summaries, mostly focusing on the myth of the independent voter.

Scottish Parliament.

Writing speeches, making tea, learning to interpret Scottish accents over the phone, and taking care of all secretarial duties for my MSP was great fun. As BYU’s internship director for the program, I was fortunate to mentor 8 new interns and through two recruitment sessions, increased interest in the program.

With the passionate Dr. Romeri-Lewis as our guide, our team consulted foreign truth commissions in best operational practices concerning regional offices, statement-taking methods, perpetrator incentivization, and more. I helped code 100+ variables in the largest truth and reconciliation commission database.
